A chemist has installed another prescription collection kiosk in Stafford which allows customers to collect their medication 24/7.

Two MedPoint 24/7 kiosks have already been installed across this long established Staffordshire Pharmacy group, and with another four being installed in the coming months.

Hussain Mohajer, the superintendent pharmacist for Cornwell’s Chemists, said: “It is an exciting time for Cornwell’s Chemists and the patients who use this services for collecting prescriptions.”

Patients first had access to use this ground-breaking service at Cornwell’s Chemists Beaconside Pharmacy.

And now the company has launched their third machine at their Weeping Cross branch, where Lord Stafford officially unveiled the machine yesterday, Thursday, August 4.

At the opening, Lord Stafford said: “The beauty about being asked to do things like this is that you just don’t know what’s in your back yard.

“It’s brilliant what they’ve done and it is so lovely to see this success story, and it is a family success story.

“It’s wonderful to see new technology that’s getting ahead of the times, it’s a real privalige.”

Satpal Chumber Pharmacist, manager at Cornwell’s Chemists Weeping Cross branch, said: “Collect your medicines when you want.

“It will also help reduce queues within the shop, giving our staff more time to help those who need to see us.”

The 24/7 MedPoint machines provides a convenient solution to those who find it difficult to pick up their or their loved ones prescriptions during regular working hours, particularly key workers.

Patients opting to use the service at Cornwell’s Chemists Beaconside Pharmacy simply order their prescriptions as usual and receive a unique code by SMS when the medication is ready to collect.

Cornwell’s Chemists owner Jonathan Mitchell said: “This machine is state-of-the-art, designed and built in Britain and it offers our customers a very convenient, free to use collection option.

“It helps in the fight against Covid-19, maintains social distancing and is a continuation of Cornwell’s Chemists mission to deliver outstanding customer service to all of our patients and communities.”

The machine will help to reduce queues at pharmacies and provide a lifeline to those that struggle to pick up their or their loved ones prescriptions during regular working hours.

Hussain adds: “As we all know, pharmacy has a key role to play in helping to alleviate pressure on the NHS.

“All of our nine pharmacies now offer many worthwhile and in some cases, lifesaving services such as free blood pressure checks, ear wax removal, travel clinics, phlebotomy, …….
